To draw attention to the health hazards of tobacco, Bhavan’s celebrated ‘World No Tobacco day’ on 12th May. World No Tobacco Day is observed around the world every year on 31 May. It is intended to encourage a 24-hour period of abstinence from all forms of tobacco consumption around the globe. A special assembly was conducted to remark the importance of the day among the students. The focus of World No Tobacco Day 2019 is on “tobacco and lung health.” Ms. Harshavardhini from class VIII C delivered a speech and reminded the gathering the adversities of tobacco consumption.  Headmistress Mrs.Shailaja Krishnakumar sensitized the students to be aware of the consequences of tobacco use and ready to fight the tobacco use in their vicinity. The Headmistress, Mrs. Asha Shiju, urged the students to observe this day every day and appealed the teenagers not to go astray on tobacco addiction. She also appreciated the efforts of all. Principal, M.P Philip spoke about the harmful effects of tobacco and passive smoking. Vice principal illustrated the Psychological and Scientific reasons behind getting addicted to something and measures to stay away from such social evils, in his speech.
